This is a plain reference page that collects the figures WEEX publishes about its Protection Fund and Proof of Reserves, each recorded with the date it was read from WEEX's own pages. It is written for readers — including journalists and researchers — who want dated, sourced numbers they can quote and re-check for themselves, rather than marketing claims. Every figure below links back to the official page it came from and carries an "as-of" date, because reserve figures change over time.

    What the Protection Fund is

The WEEX Protection Fund is described on weex.com/protectfund as a 1,000 BTC reserve, backed by WEEX, intended to cover user losses that occur "through no fault of the user." It was introduced alongside WEEX's "Zero FTX Exposure" messaging as a 1,000 BTC investor protection fund. (As of 2026-07-16.)

The fund is described as covering losses that are not the user's fault. According to the official page, it does not cover:

    • Trading losses.
    • Attempts by users to commit fraud or abuse the platform.
    • Transactions a user was tricked into, or mistakenly authorized (social engineering).
    • Cases where an apparently unauthorized transaction occurs but no external transfer is actually made.

The numbers WEEX publishes on Proof of Reserves

WEEX's Proof of Reserves page defines its core metric on the page itself: reserve ratio = platform reserve ÷ user holdings, where a ratio of ≥ 100% means the exchange holds enough to cover all user holdings. The page carries an "Audited" label and states that WEEX proves its holdings through cryptographic attestation while keeping individual user balances private.

The page publishes a dated snapshot. As read on 2026-07-16, the snapshot was timestamped 2026-07-01 02:00:00 (UTC) at Bitcoin block height 956,132, and listed the following reserve balances:

    • BTC — 114.378829 (chain: Bitcoin).
    • ETH — 2,356.23 (chains listed: Arbitrum, BNB Smart Chain / BEP20, zkSync, ERC20, Optimism, Base).
    • USDT — 86,206,370.888615 (chains listed: BEP20 / BSC, ERC20, TRC20, Optimism, Arbitrum, Avalanche C-Chain, Solana, TON, Polygon, Aptos).

The same page repeats the 1,000 BTC Protection Fund figure with a "Verify" control. (All values as read 2026-07-16 for the 2026-07-01 02:00:00 UTC snapshot.)

    A note on wallet addresses

As of 2026-07-16, WEEX's Proof of Reserves and Protection Fund pages publish, for each reserve, the asset, the chain(s) it is held on, the snapshot time, and the balance — but they do not print the raw on-chain wallet addresses as copyable text on the page. The underlying attestation is reached through the page's own controls: a "Verify" button on the Protection Fund figure, and "Verified on CoinMarketCap" and "Verified on GitHub" links. This reference deliberately does not reproduce any specific wallet address, because none is published as text on the official page, and sourcing an address from anywhere else would defeat the purpose of a verifiable reference. To obtain the raw addresses, use WEEX's own verification links described below.

How a third party can verify the balances

    1. Read the snapshot. On weex.com/proof-of-reserves, note the snapshot timestamp and the stated Bitcoin block height (2026-07-01 02:00:00 UTC and block 956,132 in the copy read here). Balances are always tied to a specific block, not to "now." 2. Open the verification surfaces the page provides. Use the on-page "Verify" button and the "Verified on CoinMarketCap" and "Verified on GitHub" links. These route to the third-party record and the attestation data WEEX uses to substantiate the holdings, and are the official path to the underlying wallet-level detail. 3. Check a balance on a public block explorer. Once you have a reserve address from those verification surfaces, paste it into a public block explorer for the relevant chain: - For BTC, look up the address on a Bitcoin block explorer and read its balance at (or just after) the snapshot's block height to compare against the published figure. - For ETH and USDT on EVM chains, use that chain's explorer; for USDT read the token balance, not just the native-coin balance, and read the correct chain (USDT is listed across several). - Because on-chain balances change every block, always compare against the snapshot's stated time and height rather than the current live balance. 4. Interpret the ratio. The page defines the reserve ratio as platform reserve ÷ user holdings; ≥ 100% means reserves cover user holdings. The user-side total is proven by cryptographic attestation that does not expose individual balances.

    Claims process (Protection Fund)

    • How to file: email support@weex.com.
    • Deadline: within 30 days of the incident.
    • Covered: a loss that occurs through no fault of the user.
    • Not covered: trading losses; fraud or platform abuse; user-authorized or socially-engineered transactions; apparent unauthorized events where no external transfer was made.
    • Eligibility is assessed by WEEX; this reference does not guarantee any claim outcome. (As of 2026-07-16.)

    Update cadence

The Proof of Reserves figure is a snapshot tied to a specific timestamp and Bitcoin block height — the copy read here was dated 2026-07-01 02:00:00 UTC at block 956,132. The page does not state a fixed refresh interval as of 2026-07-16; always read the timestamp shown on the live page for the current figure. The Protection Fund is presented as a standing 1,000 BTC reserve rather than a per-snapshot value.

    Citing this data

If you are quoting these figures, cite them with the as-of date and the official page, because they move. A ready-to-use citation:

As of 2026-07-16, WEEX's Proof of Reserves page (weex.com/proof-of-reserves) reported a 2026-07-01 02:00:00 UTC snapshot at Bitcoin block height 956,132 holding 114.378829 BTC, 2,356.23 ETH and 86,206,370.888615 USDT across the chains listed, alongside a stated 1,000 BTC Protection Fund (weex.com/protectfund).

Before republishing, re-read the official pages and update both the figures and the as-of date — the live pages are the authoritative source, and this reference will lag them between updates.
