Ukrainians Declared 22 Billion UAH in Foreign Income
As of August 1, 2026, citizens of Ukraine have submitted 13,500 declarations, indicating nearly 22 billion UAH in income from abroad. Individuals who are tax residents are required to include foreign income in their total taxable income and submit a declaration. Foreign income is taxed at rates of 18% for personal income tax (PIT) and 5% for military tax. Monetary or humanitarian aid from foreign governments is not subject to declaration. Ukraine has international agreements to avoid double taxation with over 70 countries and exchanges information with 84 foreign authorities. Taxpayers can reduce their PIT liability by the amount of tax paid abroad, provided they have a certificate from the foreign state. Citizens can submit their declarations electronically through the taxpayer's office. Nearly 88,000 Ukrainians have declared their right to a tax discount, expecting to receive 582.5 million UAH from the budget.
