U.S. Treasury Establishes Quantum-Readiness Task Force to Promote Transition to Quantum Technology in Finance
The U.S. Treasury has established the Quantum-Readiness Task Force to promote the financial industry's transition to quantum-safe technologies and post-quantum cryptography (PQC). This task force operates as a public-private partnership, bringing together government, financial institutions, financial market infrastructure, technology providers, and other private sector participants, focusing on advancing coordination within the financial sector regarding PQC migration, third-party and vendor readiness, as well as risks associated with digital assets and emerging technologies. The task force is based on Executive Order 14412 issued by the Trump administration and references the G7 Cyber Expert Group's roadmap for transitioning to post-quantum cryptography.
