Trump: Fed Chair Nominee Confirmed
BlockBeats News, December 1st, US President Trump stated, "I know who I am going to choose as the Fed Chair, and I will announce it soon." (FXStreet)
Earlier, White House National Economic Council Director Kevin Hassett praised the market's positive reaction to the possibility of Trump nominating the next Fed Chair before the end of the year. Hassett, the president's chief economic adviser, is seen as the most likely candidate for the position.
When Hassett appeared on CBS's "Face the Nation" last Sunday, he declined to comment on whether he is the frontrunner to replace Fed Chair Powell, but he referred to Bloomberg's report on the matter as "rumors." Last week's reports indicated that he is seen as the leading contender.
