Taiyo Yuden has projected its operating profit for the fiscal year ending March 2027 to increase by 50.0% year-on-year to 30 billion yen. Demand for AI servers and multilayer ceramic capacitors (MLCC) for automobiles is expected to drive this improvement in performance. According to the earnings forecast released on May 8, 2026, sales are expected to reach 384 billion yen, with net profit increasing by 21.6% to 18 billion yen. Taiyo Yuden stated that the increase in sales of capacitors was driven by demand from AI servers and the automotive sector, and improvements in operating rates due to expanded sales volume also contributed to the increase in operating profit. MLCCs are components that stabilize voltage and reduce noise within electronic devices, and the demand for power stabilization components is rising as AI servers use large quantities of high-power semiconductors. Market research firm TrendForce reported that AI demand has pushed Taiyo Yuden's MLCC shipments to a monthly high not seen in five years, with shipments totaling 40 billion units. Prices may vary by product category, and it was analyzed that orders from AI servers and data centers are supporting demand for high-end products. This shift in demand is focused on AI data centers and the semiconductor and electronic component supply chain.
