This partnership aims to reduce the size and execution burden of large language models (LLMs) to enhance inference efficiency. Multiverse Computing plans to optimize lightweight AI models for Qualcomm's Dragonfly AI200 and AI250 accelerators. The core technology, CompactifAI, utilizes tensor networks to decrease the size and memory usage of LLMs. This technology aims to lower inference costs by 50-80% and double the inference speed while maintaining nearly 100% accuracy compared to the original models. Qualcomm has outlined a roadmap for inference accelerators, progressing from AI200 to AI250 and AI300, with AI250 designed to provide an effective memory bandwidth of 133TB/s per card. Multiverse Computing claims that by June 2025, CompactifAI can reduce LLM sizes by up to 95% and can operate in cloud, private data centers, and ultra-lightweight environments. This collaboration aligns with Qualcomm's strategy to enter the AI inference data center market.
