ProCap Repurchases 2% of Shares After Selling 50 BTC
ProCap Financial has sold approximately 50 Bitcoin (BTC) and repurchased over 2% of its outstanding shares. According to an announcement on September 3, the common shares were repurchased at a price approximately 40% below the net asset value (NAV), with the cumulative repurchase amount reaching about 10% of the outstanding shares. As of September 2, the total outstanding shares were 86,764,282, and the company held about 5,305 BTC, with a NAV per share of approximately $3.71. The company employs a strategy of selling BTC and reducing its treasury shares when the stock price is lower than the NAV, thereby increasing the asset proportion per share. A similar transaction was conducted on June 1, where approximately 52 BTC were sold to buy back 2 million common shares at a price approximately 50% below NAV. According to documents submitted to the SEC, during the quarter ending March 31, 2026, 2,667,056 shares were repurchased for about $8 million, with an average purchase price of $3.00 per share. ProCap stated that it will continue to consider opportunities for share repurchases when its stock trades at a significant discount to NAV.
