Michael J. Fox Claims His Return to Acting Prolonged His Life
Michael J. Fox, 65, returned to acting with the series Shrinking after a six-year break due to Parkinson's disease. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Fox emphasized that his decision to return to acting has been valuable for his mood and health, stating, "It has really prolonged my life and made it interesting in a way I didn't think was possible until now." Diagnosed with Parkinson's in 1991, Fox had been told he had about a decade left in his career. Despite the challenges, he has embraced his condition in his recent roles, including a satirical version of himself in Curb Your Enthusiasm. He has currently been nominated for an Emmy Award for his work in Shrinking, where he stars alongside Harrison Ford, portraying characters living with Parkinson's.
