Jack Yi: AI Investment Must Focus on Star Companies
Jack Yi, founder of Liquid Capital, pointed out in a post on platform X that the core of investment lies in identifying a few star companies that can deliver excess returns, rather than casting a wide net. He mentioned how Duan Yongping invested $2 million in NetEase in 2002, holding it for eight years and achieving over 100 times profit, marking the beginning of a legendary investment journey. He stated that every technological revolution contains opportunities for excess returns; for instance, in the early days of the cryptocurrency industry a decade ago, holding BTC or investing in quality projects resulted in numerous cases of hundredfold returns. Currently, the AI industry is in its early stages of explosion, with many potential targets in the China-U.S. market waiting to be discovered. The core goal of AI investment is to capture the most explosive star companies in this wave of AI.
