Investments in Artificial Intelligence and Blockchain May Increase
Artificial intelligence has become an important investment theme in financial markets. Sandy Kaul, Head of Digital Assets and Innovation at Franklin Templeton, stated that the next wave of growth in artificial intelligence will come from blockchain networks and crypto assets. The proliferation of AI agents will lead to machines becoming independent economic actors. Robinhood has launched AI-based investment tools. CEO Vlad Tenev expressed that these agents could compete with human investors. However, the transactions carried out by AI agents may create issues for existing payment systems. Kaul emphasized that traditional payment infrastructure is not suitable for such machine-to-machine transactions. Blockchain networks could enable low-value payments to be made quickly and programmatically. The increase in the use of artificial intelligence may also boost the demand for blockchain. Circle CEO Jeremy Allaire noted that while AI reduces costs, blockchain technology also decreases the costs of economic coordination. These systems can evolve from being mere software tools to becoming economic actors themselves.
