The collaboration between Franklin Templeton and Canton began on November 12, 2025, when the Benji Technology platform expanded to the Canton blockchain. Benji is a platform where Franklin Templeton manages blockchain-based investment products. Franklin Templeton stated in a document dated April 30, 2026, that Benji is the first U.S. registered money market fund to officially use a public blockchain as its record-keeping system. Canton adopts a structure that distributes transaction data only to necessary participants, managing both transaction transparency and privacy protection.
