Ray Dalio mentioned reducing bond holdings and increasing gold and Bitcoin (BTC) holdings due to the U.S. debt burden. He presented the U.S. government's revenue for this year at about $5 trillion and expenditures at approximately $7 trillion, explaining that the budget deficit amounts to around $2 trillion. Dalio pointed out that long-term interest rates are rising more than short-term rates and that the currency is weakening against gold, predicting that the U.S. debt crisis will worsen. It remains unclear whether he views BTC as a safe asset like gold, but it can be interpreted as a discussion on asset allocation considering debt, the dollar, gold, and alternative assets. CryptoBriefing reported that the likelihood of gold prices reaching $15,000 by December 2026 is low, and even if there are expectations for rising gold prices, extreme forecasts have limited market support. Dalio's remarks convey a message to Korean investors that they should consider macro variables rather than just the short-term price of BTC.
