Cardano has upgraded its mainnet protocol to version 11.0 through the Van Rossem hard fork. This hard fork took effect on July 19 at 6:44:51 AM KST at slot 192,844,800. According to the official Cardano hard fork page, the implementation date is recorded as July 18, and the status is marked as the Conway Era. The upgrade includes improvements to ledger rules, enhanced VRF key uniqueness, performance enhancements for Plutus smart contracts, and the introduction of new encryption features. On-chain governance procedures were also applied for the first time, and the hard fork proposal was ratified on July 13 with 77.63% of DReps, 52.7% of SPOs, and 6 votes from the Constitutional Committee in favor. The Cardano Community Digest described this upgrade as the first community-based protocol upgrade proposed, discussed, and ratified through on-chain governance. The Dijkstra Era is not the current phase, and Cardano documentation classifies it as a planned future phase. Reports on the supply and price of ADA need to be distinguished from the official upgrade details. A public search on August 3 did not confirm reports that large holders purchased 240 million ADA. According to CoinGecko on the 4th, ADA is trading at approximately $0.1585, with a recent 7-day return of -8.70%.
