Cardano is concurrently conducting constitutional maintenance and Leios testing ahead of the Dijkstra Era. This work aims to enable on-chain governance to handle adjustable protocol parameters. Input Output announced on July 10 that it is preparing to adjust the Cardano constitution with a 'small and pure technical update.' The Dijkstra Era will include features such as Ouroboros Leios and nested transactions, along with newly adjustable protocol parameters. The Cardano constitution stipulates that unspecified parameters cannot be changed to governance parameter updates. Input Output plans to bundle Dijkstra-related parameters into a single integrated proposal, with a submission target before 6:44 AM KST on September 12. The Dijkstra phase is not currently active, and Cardano's official documentation classifies it as a planned future phase. Leios is a scalability upgrade aimed at increasing Cardano's throughput, with the official roadmap including the Leios block structure, encoding, and the Leios protocol parameters of the ledger. However, the roadmap does not imply immediate mainnet implementation and must go through a public testnet and several testing phases. Cardano launched the public testnet Musashi Dojo on June 23 and reported stabilization of the Leios testnet on July 17. The community is focusing more on governance design than on technological advancements, and reports from foreign media regarding the Dijkstra implementation schedule have not been confirmed in official materials.
