The Cardano ecosystem has announced that the hard fork process for transitioning to the Dijkstra era will continue without changes to the established scope and dates. The initial distribution of the Dijkstra update is expected to occur in two phases. The first phase aims to implement Nested Transactions and Linear Leios, while the second phase will introduce Peras. The Haskell node team intends to make the first phase available on the Cardano mainnet by the end of 2026. The activation of Peras, the second phase, is anticipated in the second quarter of 2027. Intersect reported that there are no changes to the scope and target dates of Dijkstra. This structure will allow for the gradual implementation of core capabilities within the Dijkstra scope. Progress in alternative node applications on the network has also drawn attention. The Amaru project, developed in Rust, has been noted to fulfill the relay function, with a target date for block production on the mainnet set for November 2026. It was stated that a minor update to the Constitution text would occur before the Dijkstra era, incorporating new capabilities into the governance scope. It was emphasized that significant upgrades would come with Dijkstra, bringing new updatable protocol parameters. Governance efforts surrounding Dijkstra and subsequent hard fork processes are progressing, with community discussions and proposal processes shaping through the newly established Constitutional Amendment Portal.
