Bitget in Talks with Financial Giants like BlackRock to Explore Collaboration in Asian Market
The cryptocurrency exchange Bitget is in discussions with major Wall Street financial institutions, including BlackRock, regarding the expansion of digital asset operations in Asia.
Gracy Chen, CEO of Bitget, revealed this in an interview with CoinDesk.
Chen explained that they are negotiating collaborations with large financial institutions and stated that they are in close communication with BlackRock regarding distribution in the Asian market.
According to CoinDesk, BlackRock is seeking to expand the distribution of tokenized ETFs (exchange-traded funds) in Asia.
On the other hand, a spokesperson for BlackRock told CoinDesk that the company's cryptocurrency ETPs (exchange-traded products) are already available in Asia, and they regularly engage in discussions with a wide range of market participants. However, they refrained from commenting on specific plans for business expansion in Asia.
Asia is increasing its presence in the global cryptocurrency market. According to the OECD (Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development), cryptocurrency transactions on blockchain in Asia are expected to grow by 69% year-on-year over the year leading up to June 2025, marking the highest growth rate among all regions.
Bitget has 125 million registered users worldwide, with Chen noting that about half of them are concentrated in East Asia and Southeast Asia.
Additionally, a survey conducted by the company in the first quarter of 2026 found that 52% of respondents hold both cryptocurrencies and stocks, indicating that this customer base could represent a new sales channel for major asset management firms.
