Bitcoin eCash Hard Fork to Activate on August 21
Bitcoin will activate the eCash hard fork at block height 963648 (around August 21), launching the new chain eCash. eCash will airdrop the network token ECX to all Bitcoin addresses holding Bitcoin prior to block height 963648 on a 1:1 basis. Users need to transfer BTC to a self-custody wallet for eCash, with no registration or pre-claim required. Currently, the support rate for this hard fork in the Bitcoin community is relatively low. Additionally, Bitcoin will also see the BIP-110 soft fork in August, which will enter its mandatory phase at block height 961632 (around August 7) and officially activate at block height 963648 (around September 1).
