Alpaca's monthly active API users have increased approximately fourfold over the past six months. The introduction of AI agents is expanding the competitive landscape of financial services. Alpaca completed a funding round of $135 million on July 16, bringing its total funding to $435 million. In the first quarter of this year, the growth rate of API usage accelerated to about four times faster than the previous quarter, with a monthly growth rate projected to rise to around 30% by the first quarter of 2026. Alpaca has broadened its engagement with developers by releasing its Trading MCP server and open-source skill library. As AI tools take on order execution, the importance of account permissions and order validation processes is increasing. In South Korea, personal open API services are also expanding, with the openness and operational stability of APIs emerging as key competitive factors. Alpaca supports hundreds of fintech and financial institutions across more than 40 countries and operates over 10 million brokerage accounts.
