0km Car Registrations Fell 19% in August, 70% Were Imported
The registration of 0km cars in August recorded 44,415 units, a 19.1% decrease compared to the same month in 2025, according to the Association of Automotive Dealers of the Argentine Republic (ACARA). Although the decline was less than in July (-30.3%), it was greater than in June (+12.8%). The share of imported vehicles reached 70%, a figure that had only been seen in one month since the current government took office. ACARA President Sebastián Beato highlighted the sector's efforts to prevent a greater decline and mentioned the need for a transition towards a new mobility offering. In the brand ranking, Toyota, Volkswagen, and Fiat maintained the top three positions, while Ford and Chevrolet rose to third and fourth place, respectively. BYD ranked ninth. Compared to July, the total registrations decreased by 1.5%, although the daily average increased by 3.4%, indicating a slight improvement in market pace. In the accumulated total for eight months, 385,091 units were reached, a 13.3% decrease compared to the same period in 2025.
